Pend Oreille
Sandpoint
is a small resort town on the edge of a large lake in North Idaho .
Sandpoint's popularity is partly due to the beautiful, still pristine
nature of Lake Pend Oreille , the fifth largest natural lake in the
forty-eight lower states. Lake Pend Oreille is a lake for all water
enthusiasts, you can dock your fishing boat and land your seaplane, go
canoeing or water skiing.
The Lake is
surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes with miles of hiking trails
and view points. The Monarch Mountains are located at the northeast end
of Pend Oreille toward the town of Clark fork, and which the Clark Fork
river feeds into Lake Pend Oreille.
Waterfront
properties come in all types on this lake with great views and remote
landscapes, you will surly be able to find your preferred spot.
Fishing
on Pend Oreille is second to none, some of the most sought after species
being the kamloop (Rainbow Trout) and mackinaw (Lake Trout), but the
lake has also a mixed ecosystem of crappie, bass, and kokanee salmon. |
